KPJ KUCHING MARKS MILESTONE WITH 205TH ROBOTIC-ASSISTED KNEE SURGERY

KUCHING, March 28 (Bernama) -- KPJ Kuching Specialist Hospital marked a historic achievement with the completion of its 205th robotic knee joint replacement surgery, employing Robotic Surgery Assistant (ROSA) technology.

In a statement today, KPJ Healthcare said utilising ROSA technology accelerates recovery times and enhances patient recovery rates, leading to significant advancements in surgical outcomes.

“Since the use of this technology between August last year and February this year, the number of knee joint (robotic-assisted) replacement surgeries recorded a significant increase of 28.7 percent with 358 procedures, compared to the same period previously,” KPJ highlighted. 

“The integration of ROSA technology not only improves surgical accuracy but also improves patients’ recovery experience providing them with confidence and a sense of high satisfaction,” it said. 

This accomplishment is proof that the KPJ specialist hospital is dedicated to implementing a high-tech medical system and providing healthcare that prioritises the patient, it added.

“This achievement not only underlines KPJ Healthcare's commitment to adapting the use of innovative technology that can improve patient recovery rates and operational efficiency in its hospital network but also succeeds in forging important historic milestones in the healthcare sector in Sarawak," said the statement.
