15 UITM SARAWAK STUDENTS RECEIVE LAPTOPS UNDER MADANI GADGET ASSISTANCE
KOTA SAMARAHAN, Jan 9 (Bernama) – A total of 15 students from low-income and hardcore poor families studying at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak have been selected to receive laptops under the MADANI Gadget (PERMAI) assistance.
Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang said the gadgets would enable these targeted students to excel academically, potentially transforming their futures and breaking the cycle of poverty.
The contribution comes from Bank Muamalat, a strategic partner of the Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department, she added.
“Efforts by government-linked companies (GLCs) like this are key in supporting the government’s initiatives to combat poverty,” she told reporters after handing over the gadgets at the Didik Kasih MADANI (dKasih) programme at the UiTM Sarawak Samarahan 2 campus today.
She also said that the dKasih PERMAI initiatives are part of the Kesejahteraan Rakyat MADANI programme to ensure the people’s well-being and a better quality of life.
