2024 MADANI RAKYAT SARAWAKKU SAYANG RECORDS 300,000 VISITORS - PETRA
MIRI, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- The three-day 2024 MADANI Rakyat Sarawakku that began on Friday recorded around 300,000 visitors.
According to the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Ministry (PETRA), the programme held at the grounds of a shopping mall here also recorded sales exceeding RM500,000 in the first two days of the programme through the MADANI Agro and Entrepreneur Sales, Rahmah MADANI Sales, Sarawak Kitchen, Foodtrucks, Telco Rahmah and Coffee Corner.
“The programme managed to achieve its aim of exposing and introducing various government initiatives to ensure the people’s wellbeing, especially in facing cost of living issues and the national agenda in empowering youth,” the ministry said in a statement today.
The programme was organised by PETRA as the lead ministry together with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Project Acceleration and Coordination Unity (PACU) and the Sarawak state government.
At yesterday’s officiation ceremony, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim presented the Sejahtera Komuniti MADANI (SejaTi MADANI) donations to recipients from local communities in five focus groups, agriculture and food, sewing and handicraft, herbs and health, tourism and hospitality, as well as green activities and recycling.
The government, through PACU has allocated RM1 billion for the benefit of qualified communities throughout the country under the SejaTi MADANI initiative.
A special registration plate series PETRA was also launched, with bidding on JPJeBid beginning from Sept 28 and ending at 10 pm Oct 2.
The prime minister also performed a symbolic handover of the Rahmah Cash Aid for all 28,944 recipients without bank accounts at 30 locations in the interior of Sarawak.
