DEA2023 AIMS TO RECOGNISE DRIVERS OF DIGITAL INITIATIVES IN SARAWAK
KUCHING, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak government, in collaboration with the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), has announced the commencement of the Digital Economy Awards 2023 (DEA2023).
The SMA said the award aims to recognise individuals and organisations driving digital initiatives in Sarawak.
“The SMA is inviting entries from various sectors to showcase their innovative ideas, research, visionary leadership and solutions that contribute to Sarawak’s digital transformation.
“This year’s DEA2023 coincides with the 27th World Congress on Innovation and Technology (WCIT) and the 6th International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) from Oct 4 to 6,” it said in a statement today.
The award categories include the prestigious Premier’s Digital Economy Award along with eight other categories like Digital Technology Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Startup, Digital Creative Content and Environmental Sustainability.
“The prestigious Premier’s Digital Economy Award, a beacon of distinction, carries not only a coveted RM20,000 prize but also a trophy and a certificate.
“The winners of the other eight categories will also walk away with prizes worth RM10,000 each, paired with a trophy and certificate,” it said.
Submissions are open from Aug 28 to Sept 25.
Entrants are urged to present comprehensive project summaries, development strategies and supporting documents that showcase the impact and innovation of their initiatives.
