EXISTS CONCERT IN KUCHING TO SHOWCASE NOSTALGIA AND SARAWAK MUSIC
KUCHING, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- Exists fans here will have the opportunity to watch one of the country’s top Malay rock bands ‘live’ through the second series of the ‘Exists Resolusi’ concert to be held at the Kuching South City Council Stadium (MBKS) on May 27.
Exists’ keyboardist, Mohd Faizal Maas, or ‘Ajai’ said for the first time, the band will stage a concert in in Kuching, taking into account the cultural diversity and uniqueness of traditional Sarawak music in the Land of the Hornbill.
Counting down four months to the concert, Ajai said the combination of traditional Sarawak music and the songs of Exists is a musical fusion that the band wants to highlight in this series and which will be billed as the curtain-raiser of the upcoming concert.
“We are looking for a group of local musicians such as sape players to compose a masterpiece. We want to present a difference in every concert and one of the big names in the planning to partner with Exists on stage is (sape mastro) Alena Murang,” he said at a press conference for the Exists Resolusi concert here today.
The two-and-a-half-hour long concert starting at 9 pm will showcase a list of 25 popular songs from the Exists’ first to last album, including their hits such as ‘Alasanmu, Kembali, Untukmu Ibu, Janji Padamu, Janji Bidadari, Terpaksa, Kuman H.I.V’ and ‘Kerana Cinta’.
Besides Ajai (keyboards), Exists comprises bassist Musa Radhu, guitarist Along and drummer Ujang, with original main vocalist Mamat accompanied by two other singers Pasha and Eiz.
The first series of Exists Resolusi concerts was held last Nov 18 in Kuala Lumpur.
