SARAWAK'S PUSAKA HANDS OUT CASH CONTRIBUTION TO ORPHANS
KUCHING, March 16 (Bernama) -- A total of 100 recipients, comprising orphaned children, received cash contributions in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration from the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (PUSAKA) tonight.
The recipients were from three tahfiz and four primary schools around Kuching and Samarahan.
The event was officiated by Sarawak's Deputy Premier and Chairman of the PUSAKA Management Board, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan. Also attending the event was his wife Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud.
State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, PUSAKA Advisor Datuk Hashim Bojet and PUSAKA chief executive officer Zainal Abidin Abdullah were also present.
Earlier, a total of 800 people, including PUSAKA staff and guests, participated in the breaking of fast and congregational Tarawih prayers.
