SARAWAK PUBLIC ACCOUNTS GETS CLEAN CERTIFICATE FOR 21ST CONSECUTIVE YEAR
KUCHING, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- Sarawak has been accorded a clean certificate for its public accounts for the financial year 2022, said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
He said it was the 21st consecutive year that the state has a clean record, which clearly demonstrated good governance practices and prudent financial management.
“This outstanding achievement since the last 21 years, resulting from our consistent display of professionalism and prudent financial management which to me, deserves a moment of commendation.
“This achievement is not just any milestone but a consistent narrative of sustained commitment to financial excellence by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak government,” said Uggah, who is also Second Minister for Finance and New Economy, Winding up for his ministry at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly meeting here today.
He said his ministry will continue to ensure excellent financial management by adopting international best practices, managing risks and performance and having robust internal control.
Meanwhile, Uggah said the state government had implemented various programmes to develop genuine and competitive Bumiputera contractors in Sarawak.
He said a total of 3, 705 participants have benefitted from the 95 series of development and training programmes conducted.
