KUCHING, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- Sarawak Information Systems Sdn Bhd (Sains), a state government-owned information and communication technology system integrator and solution provider, has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China-based Ant Group Digital Technologies to explore the development of mobile government applications.

In a joint statement, the two companies said that under the MoU, Sains would adopt solutions that meet its business objectives via leveraging innovative technologies from Ant Group Digital Technologies.

They said the technical solutions would include mPaaS, a mobile development platform providing a cloud-to-end one-stop solution for mobile development, and Zoloz eKYC, an artificial intelligence-powered digital identity verification solution.

“Sains has developed many applications for its customers over the years since its founding, and mobile government is one of the key solutions for Sains to help the Sarawak government achieve its Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 and Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint 2030.

“As 100 per cent end-to-end government services will be delivered by 2030, digital identity verification solutions will be key to ensure that digital transactions can take place securely,” they said.

Sains chief executive officer (CEO) Busiai Seman said the company looked forward to collaborating with technology partners such as Ant Group Digital Technologies due to its knowledge and expertise in the areas of mobile government and identity verification technologies.

Ant Group Digital Technologies CEO Geoff Jiang said its collaboration with leading innovators like Sains would help accelerate digital transformation and collaboration across industries such as public services, as well as drive innovation, efficiency and trust in Malaysia.
