SIBU TO BE FIRST SARAWAK LOCAL GOVT TO USE SMART PARKING PAYMENT SYSTEM
SIBU, June 27 (Bernama) -- The Sibu Municipal Council will be the first local authority in Sarawak to use a smart parking payment system that will replace the current coupon system.
Its chairman, Clarence Ting said they were currently waiting for approval from the state government to use the system in the town, which is similar to that used by local authorities in Penang.
“The council is now poised to be the first in Sarawak to use this system and we are excited about it,” he told reporters here today, adding that drivers only need to download the app on their mobile phones to pay for their parking.
He said a delegation from the Sibu Municipal Council had conducted a learning visit to Penang to study how the smart parking payment system worked in detail.
