KUCHING, May 26 (Bernama) -- OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd has affirmed its commitment to Sarawak's long-term economic growth and the fulfilment of its sustainability agenda.

OCBC Malaysia said it will leverage its strong regional presence to collaborate with Sarawak in facilitating trade and investment flow from potential investors outside of Malaysia, as well as to contribute to the economic growth of the state.

“Sarawak remains a vitally important part of OCBC Malaysia's strategic thrust in contributing to the economic growth of Malaysia, which is an important key market to OCBC Group,” it said in a statement.

Earlier today, OCBC Malaysia, led by its chief executive officer Tan Chor Sen, paid a courtesy call to Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Wisma Bapa Malaysia.

During the visit, Tan expressed the bank’s commitment to Sarawak's post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030) initiatives towards championing economic prosperity, social inclusivity and environmental sustainability.

“We are deeply honoured with the opportunity to explore with the Premier of Sarawak and his senior officials how we can continue in our role as a key financial partner to facilitate and support the premier's transformation plans under PCDS 2030,” it said.
