KUCHING, April 12 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak Education, Innovation and Talent Development Ministry will be organising a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Trailblazers conference from July 6 to 9 to accelerate innovation and digital skills among young children through the use of Raspberry Pi

Minister Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn said there would be two major programmes at the conference, comprising a Raspberry Pi Forum and a STEM festival, with both expected to showcase the best talents and demonstrates how the ministry has been central to the development of human capital.

“The Raspberry Pi is a low-cost, credit card-sized computer that plugs into a computer monitor that enables students to explore computing and to learn how to program in languages like Scratch and Python,” he told a press conference here today.

Organised in partnership with the Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) and the Curtin University of Technology Malaysia, the event would signify the state's commitment to promoting STEM as a cornerstone for Sarawak’s development.

A total of 30 district education offices (PPD), over 2000 students and teachers as well as industry exhibits and talks by internationally acclaimed speakers.
