KUCHING,  Feb 9 (Bernama) -- The Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) has implemented 154 initiatives to support efforts toward the digitalisation of Sarawak.

SMA general manager Dr Zaidi Razak said of the 154 initiatives, 64 were developed entirely by SMA,  while the rest were with the collaboration of various government and private agencies in Sarawak.

"We are very proud to receive the London Innovation Award in London last year through the development of the iSarawakCare application which unites various applications through digitalisation.

"In principle, we succeeded in changing the way a ministry works to a digital platform with applicants able to access their applications from the early stage to the end," he said in a statement here today.

Zaidi said another initiative developed by SMA was the Sarawak ID application, which now has 881,538 registered users.

“Many services, by the government and the private sector, are offered through Sarawak ID,” he said.

Meanwhile, commenting on other infrastructure developed by SMA, Zaidi said another Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) has been established and is operating in the Kapit area.

He hoped that the young people would take the opportunity to get involved with the digital services provided by SMA through the various initiatives.
