BESARAWAK, PCMA TO DEVELOP INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF BUSINESS EVENTS AND LEGACIES
KUCHING, Jan 11 (Bernama) -- Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) has inked a collaborative agreement with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) as a strategic partner to develop the International Journal of Business Events and Legacies in North America and worldwide.
BESarawak, in a statement, said the agreement was sealed in Ohio, the United States, as part of the PCMA Convening Leaders 2023, yesterday.
Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who witnessed the ceremony, said the strategic partnership with PCMA is expected to open opportunities to collaborate with the association’s wide network of audience and members.
He said Sarawak is an emerging point for serious thought leadership and innovation.
Abdul Karim explained that Sarawak had spent several years learning and facilitating business event legacies and became the first to put social and economic progress at the forefront of Malaysian business events.
“We welcome more academicians and convention bureau to become strategic partners of the journal,” he said.
Meanwhile, PCMA president and chief executive officer, Sherrif Karamat said the agreement with BESarawak is completely aligned with PCMA’s vision of growth as both organisations share the same goal to demonstrate how business events transform societies, businesses and communities.
“We look forward to collaborating with BESarawak to develop the journal as it elevates the influence of business events and advocates legacy and sustainability impact globally,” he added.
