TEGAS DIGITAL VILLAGE WINS BRANDLAUREATE AWARD
KUCHING, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) Digital Village has won the BrandLaureate Brand of the Year Awards 2022 for the e-Branding in Enterprise – Digital Innovation Solutions category.
Chairman of TEGAS Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the award is a recognition of the organisation’s efforts and commitment in empowering startups and social enterprises in Sarawak.
“The TEGAS team will be flying to Kuala Lumpur to receive the prestigious award at the BrandLaureate Brand of the Year Awards 2022 Gala Dinner tonight,” he said after attending the Shell LiveWIRE Sarawak 2022 Award Ceremony here today.
Funded by the Sarawak government, TEGAS Digital Village serves as a platform to support startup growth and facilitate technology transfer and commercialisation.
Meanwhile, Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who also attended the event, said the state government was planning to build a hostel at TEGAS Digital Village.
He said the hostel would accommodate students and visitors from abroad who were participating in programmes organised by the digital village.
“An allocation for building the hostel will be given according to the proposal by TEGAS. We will also look into having suitable infrastructure at the hostel, such as recreational areas,” he said.
