PARA SUKMA: POWERLIFTER MOHAMAD FUAD MARKS DEBUT WITH GOLD
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Sarawak powerlifting ace Mohamad Fuad Alen created a sensation in his maiden Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma) 2022 appearance when he won the men’s below 54-kilogramme (kg) category today.
Fuad, 43, dominated the event with lifts of 90kg, 95kg and 100kg and was no match for the other four contestants at the Malaysia Paralympic Sports Excellence Centre in Kampung Pandan here.
“This is my first Para Sukma. Alhamdulillah, this is my reward after training for two years and I never thought I’d take home the gold medal.
“I am now determined to defend this gold medal in future Para Sukma,” the powerlifter from Kuching told Bernama.
Perak’s Muhammad Akmal Danish Mohd Supi took silver with his best lift of 85kg while Labuan’s Rafli Suhaili took bronze with a lift of 76kg.
