28 govt service counters to open during Sarawak AKM Tour
KUCHING, Aug 1 (Bernama) -- A total of 28 government service counters will be opened during the Sarawak chapter of the Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations (AKM) Tour at Dataran Perayaan, Petra Jaya here from Aug 5 to 7.
Executive director of the Shared Prosperity Delivery Unit (SEPADU) of the Prime Minister's Department, Wan Azilawati Wan Mahmood, said the programme will take place from 9 am to 9 pm daily and is the seventh edition of the tour after Johor, Perlis, Sabah, Terengganu, Perak and Kelantan.
“These counters will provide aid and services to the public such as replacement of identity cards, with seven mobile counters comprising the Road Transport Department, YaPEIM (the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation), eye clinic and others,” she said in an interview session over TV AlHijrah this morning.
In addition, the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry will also organise a cheap sale programme offering basic necessities at a discount of between 15 and 30 per cent.
It is hoped that through the AKM Tour, the people in the state can better understand and appreciate the three core values of Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian Family), namely inclusivity, common ground and contentment, she added.
Wan Azilawati also said that visitors have the opportunity to enjoy lunch with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
She added that the public can visit www.keluargamalaysia.gov.my for more information and visitors are also advised to adhere to the COVID-19 standard operating procedures for the safety of their families and themselves.
